As a very recent gentoo convert, the only challenge I have found with gentoo is finding the time for compilation. All my hardware was autodetected by the bootable Live CD and I can not say enough good things about 'emerge' and it's dependency handling - very intuitive and streets ahead of rpm/urpmi (never managed to get Debian installed, so can't comment on apt-get). - -- Z -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/mF287OkDsnZTqP0RAoCBAJ9pwNOGDg4W0YpaFlpxUT2Z77Z0oQCbBQTP 37Ld+mLObB2OSP2HTAMorGk= =8NrL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
