Funny you should mention OpenOffice on Windows, most recently I have had a
number of my customers come to me for alternative choices. While some of
them are looking at a Linux plan, they have also started using OpenOffice
and other OpenSource software on Windows.

The only problem I have seen with OpenOffice on windows, except for heavy MS Office formatting, is if you are using a NT based system you must install it as Administrator from the command line and then each user has to install it into their specified directory. This causes problems when you have multiple people using multiple computers.
