Mandrake said that it couldn't read the movie with Xine or Mplayer.

Does
anyone have any suggestions here concerning movie players and recording
software. So far, I can only use it under windows, with it's pre-packaged
OEM software and with Nero.

Not sure about watching, but looking at the Intrex site, I see that the drive in question is a DVD+R/RW. IIRC, DVD+R/RW didn't used to be supported under Linux (only DVD-R/RW was). I'm pretty sure it *is* supported now, but I don't know what level. Can anyone speak to the various levels of support in linux for the various different types of DVD writers? (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM) Kevin? You've probably had a DVD writer longer than anyone on list. Care to comment?

Cheers,
Tanner
