Nah, by 'destroyed' I mean that after some use, the inputs started sounding 'scratchy', this happened on multiple SB cards. I'm not sure if the signal from my mixer was too much for the SB, but my AP2496 has been handling much louder signals with no distortion and making much better recordings.

If you're just looking at a 'one time' tape to CD transfer and you're not interested in replacing your SB (understandable), you're welcome to come use my system to create your .wav files. They can be burned to cd and you could take them home to edit. Contact me off list if you don't mind driving to Greenville. (You'll have to bring your own tape deck, I no longer own one!)
