That's what I heard. And if this is the sentiment from TriLUG overall (which I hope and think that it isn't) I guess we ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) don't have to worry about working with you guys in the future.
It had been discussed to do something like this in the past, and this was the attitude that we talked about, and why we decided not to do it. Sure we may be small, but do pretty darn well for our size. Before you go spouting off about distros and networks, take a look at Harrelson G108 and the local mirror (I believe its mirror.linux.ncsu.edu, and it may be restricted to the NCSU IP block). Its got a killer network, fat pipe, and always works without a hitch. The PXE/DHCP box I'm sure was convenient and helpful, but without it, things wouldn't have fallen apart as more than one person has mentioned. We've managed to get through plenty of installfests on our own, and it looks like we'll keep it that way. Sure, more notice would have been great, but you know what, that wasn't our fault. Don't lump it in with your perceived problems on our end. We were approached and asked if TriLUG could "share" our intstallfest, with the hopes that both our groups would benefit. I would dare say that we benefited from having more people there than we would have had, and TriLUG benefitted from having a great space to use. If it was underutilized, thats not our fault. Heather-- If you're out there, and I've overstepped my bounds, by all means, step in and say something, but I for one, will not be supporting working with TriLUG again until we can get this superiority complex sorted out. ~Ian Meyer [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Mon, 28 Feb 2005 22:40:49 -0500, Tanner Lovelace <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Mon, 28 Feb 2005 21:46:20 -0500, David McDowell > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > TriLUG, we can do better.
