I'm glad you cleared that up. I couldn't get Wilderness First Responder out of my head since I spent several years doing it. Apparently google agrees since 4 of the top 6 links are related to this use of WFR. I actually need to renew my certification. Thanks for reminding me! :)

It's pronounced like woofer in that context. It's sort of like SCSI. I don't think about the letters much anymore. It's just a word. If someone wrote SCSI in an email and it was an acronym for something other than our beloved interface you'd probably pronounce it scuzzy in your head and not have a clue what they were talking about.

THe WFR location (Holly Park Shopping Center) is a great place too and
has almost identical stock, but I've seen 'em sell out of mbds

WFR had me scratching my head for a few seconds. Since I live in Wake
Forest, I kept translating this to Wake Forest Rolesville in my head. After squinting a bit it finally hit me Wake Forest Road! It only
took three years to lose my North Raleigh perspective gained over
nearly 20 years!

This also reminds me of when I first joined Trilug a couple of years
ago, when I gave my address as Wake Forest, someone said "Wow, you
came a long way!" Yeah, all the way from the other end of I-540! Even folks who live nearby confuse Wake Forest with Winston-Salem.
