I use Mandriva 2006 for my desktop. Now that Mandriva has ironed out 
certain bugs (kat, Xorg CVS), it works wonderful. Mandriva has been in 
"Desktop Linux business" since it was created. Ubuntu just started. As 
any respectable deskto distro, there are a ton of apps available:

BTW, most of those are KDE native and included with Mandriva, either in
