Now that Mandriva has ironed out certain bugs (kat, Xorg CVS), it works wonderful. Mandriva has been in "Desktop Linux business" since it was created. Ubuntu just started. As any respectable deskto distro, there are a ton of apps available: http://qa.mandriva.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/ReleasesHistory > 2) Recommended apps? Maybe Cinelerra? http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 > iDVD: ? kmplayer / kaffeine http://kmplayer.kde.org/ BTW, most of those are KDE native and included with Mandriva, either in "main" or in "contrib" package sources. So no fidling around with non-native packages. Salut, Sinner -- http://www.ibiblio.org/sinner/ || http://mandrake.badopi.org Linux User #89976 - MandrakeLinux 10.1-Official -Linux Machine #38068
