I second the "eyes on the Nokia770."  Not exactly a PDA, but if you
are more concerned with the "hack around with" than the calendar, I
think it would be better than a zaurus.  On the otherhand, it doesn't
have a keyboard, so it would have limited use as an SSH client (though
you could use a bluetooth keyboard with it...)  mmm Nokia 770
