It's the same machine! I don't know who to call, but I had a lot of trouble finding someone at Verizon to help me setup my DSL modem about a year ago so it would let packets straight through and my router did the dhcp call. Everyone said that wasn't technically possible. Eventually I found the right person, who just read me the instructions - he said that verizon had people reconfigure their modems all the time.
