That's good to hear!  I've hestiated to allow anything that I _really_
want to watch accumulate on the DVR for fear of loosing it in a power
outage, HD failure, etc. If I could back up the files, with some
confidence that restoring them would allow the DVR to play them...it
would make me feel much better....

As an aside -- I run my 8300HD with an external sata drive that doubled my store time. Just be sure to use a sata2 cable.
