Based on the log, the error was from the vmware package's preinstall scriptlet. It isn't actually a problem with rpm at all - thus the various suggestions to remove the _db.00N files, rebuild the rpm database, etc., will be of no help. While it's too late now, if this happens again I would recommend the "--noscripts" option to "rpm -e" which should bypass the failing preinstall script, but hopefully allow full removal of the package files. --Jeremy -- /---------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Jeremy Portzer [EMAIL PROTECTED] trilug.org/~jeremy | | GPG Fingerprint: 712D 77C7 AB2D 2130 989F E135 6F9F F7BC CC1A 7B92 | \---------------------------------------------------------------------/ -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
