I have found and now use Cobian Backup 8,

setup jobs big or small as many as you want
choose directories or files
compress or not
divide into backups that will conform to CD capacities
schedule to run automatically
include/excludes files or classes thereof (.pdf, .jpg, etc.)
incremental, differential, and initial full, etc.

And some other bells and whistles
