Root device full

I have installed succesfully trinux 0.49 HD but it appears that the root device is full and I'm unable to add any other package.   a "df" shows that there is 2609 blocks (not too much I believe) and there isn't any place left even to create one directory entry.   I read somewhere that Ramdisks should increase automatically but this isn't the case I also tried to add the parameters "mem=8192" or "memsize=8192" to the loadlin command but tha max size doesn't appear to be the problem.   Any idea ???   Thanks Jean-dominique
