You can probably get around your problem by manually editing your xorg.conf
file. It's disappointing that X.org often still can't get default screen
resolution right 100% of the time, but its a consequence of writing software
to run on as many platforms as possible.
Please give the GNU project proper credit. We don't call the system simply
"GNU" because the kernel is unfinished, so we ask you not to only call it
"Linux" as Linux is only a kernel. Unless Linus's project develops its own
compiler collection, C library, shell, core utilities, build system, and
bootloader, this system is going to continue to be GNU/Linux.
