4.5 could be released tomorrow for all we know. A release candidate means  
(for all intents and purposes) it's already released, barring any major bugs  
that remain. Ubuntu 11.04 will be released about a month and a half from now,  
and allowing three months for the process of making the Trisquel release  
based on it, that means nine months since the release of Taranis, which is a  
really long time between releases.

Why would Ruben scrap the months of hard work when we're already 99% of the  
way there?
