I dont think that this is a good way. The Advantage of having multiple  
distros is to have a os that is more "fitting" the MS way with just having  
one os with eat-or-die should not be copied. For example i dislike Debian,  
since you need some time to configure it, its release cycle that may be nice  
for the Devs or the Stability but you never know when you get a update for  
Software x with the next major release.

Sudo is also not in all Distributions. There are people who does not like it  
so they can be happy with Distros not having it. Only having 2 Distributions  
sound to me more like Linux 7
