[Trisquel-users] Adding software-center to repos?

I was reading the dagda-development wiki page and I saw that grvrulz had got  
it working under/ported it to Trisquel. Another point was "If someone writes  
a package helper for that, we could add it back to the repository."

I'd like to help get a Trisquel version of software-center into the repos.  
How can I help and what is a "package helper"?
