Ubuntu has a kernel optimized for servers and Trisquel is based off of the
free packages of Ubuntu with a Libre kernel. How hard would it be to offer a
server kernel similar to the one in Ubuntu, but instead a Libre one that
matches the same version as Ubuntu's? Heck if you guys can keep up with the 5
year LTS cycle as well, it would be fucking awesome.
I ask this because down the road I want to expand some projects and would be
nice to have server(s) running a variant of Trisquel instead of Ubuntu
Server. I would really like to have a totally free operating system on the
server side as well, but if this is too much work for the team I understand.
Just throw me a bone with a server kernel.
To make this happen do I need to donate like a lot of money? I surely cannot
be the only one who wants a totally libre server kernel.
