Ubuntu has a kernel optimized for servers and Trisquel is based off of
the free packages of Ubuntu with a Libre kernel. How hard would it be to

Well, The kernel that ubuntu ships with server version, has just
minor differences with the kernel for desktop version...

Thats the link, maybe the whole distro (packages and all the
configuration) are
optimized for server tasks. But if you are interested just in the kernel,
maybe
you can "cook" a kernel with the options mentioned in the previous link.
I ask this because down the road I want to expand some projects and
would be nice to have server(s) running a variant of Trisquel instead of
Ubuntu Server. I would really like to have a totally free operating
system on the server side as well, but if this is too much work for the
team I understand. Just throw me a bone with a server kernel.
My vote for a server flavor too =)
To make this happen do I need to donate like a lot of money? I surely
cannot be the only one who wants a totally libre server kernel.
