I respect your opinion, and here's mine: freedom DOES matter even if it means giving up a lot (in some cases even everything). I would highly suggest you read Mako's article on "When Free Software Isn't Better".
I've been where you are now and totally understand your feelings and apprehensions. I do hope that you'll give being free even for a week.
