I've used both OpenBSD 4.8 and 5.1. 4.8 was definitely a pain to configure, I  
got gnome running after 8 hours. 5.1 was much easier as you can install Xorg  
in installation time (it comes bundled with the cd). All you have to do then  
is configure PKG_PATH and install whatever you want.
