I wish people would care more about what companies like NVIDIA, ATI, and  
Intel are doing and less about it working well or not.

Intel isn't a great company when it comes to users freedoms either. However  
they are releasing the software under appropriate licenses where there are  
critical pieces missing.

NVIDIA is doing no such thing and AMD just pretends to care.
