I think of the words 'consort' and 'mate' as being synonymous.  When I 
first heard the name of this new proposed de, I thought, "Oh, no, 
another GNOME 2 clone"!  Now that I read the whole piece, I'm wondering 
if it isn't what Rubin has already done with our Trisquel 6 desktop?  If 
Consort can benefit from all the improvements made in GTK3 over 2, have 
the accessibility stack found in GNOME 3.4.2, and keep all the features 
found in, for instance, Trisquel 6, all without the need for 3D 
rendering, I'm very interested in seeing this succeed.
