thanks for the appropriate keywords!i now see the older discussions and what debian and FSF are saying about GFDL.
so for now my conclusion is that trisquel follows FSF in terms of defining "free". The package description somehow is coming unmodified from debian, thus it calls the package "non-free" referring to the debian definition of "free"
