Thank you for the replies so far; I'll look into Mednafen.
onpon4: I can play some Linux-native games on the netbook alright, such as  
Battle for Wesnoth and Armagetron. I suppose I'm partial to emulators because  
I grew up with those systems. Unfortunately there aren't really any consoles  
whatsoever with any free games.
