I am no developer. However, even though I have reservations about Trisquel  
forking from Ubuntu, I do believe it was a smart move to fork from such a  
popular distribution. At the time Trisquel was formed, Canonical did not  
appear as they appear now, and had not made so many moves contradictory to  
the community.
