Definitely, setting up your own pod is best, just like hosting your own  
e-mail is best. I don't think having "super nodes" can be helped, though, at  
least now; the same thing happened with e-mail.

Of course, everyone that can should have their own Diaspora site, or use a  
Diaspora site set up by a friend. For everyone else, though, the best thing  
is for there to be as many separate "super nodes" as possible to minimize the  
problem.
