I just rooted my phone using a friend's Windows computer. I feel so powerful right now :) I've removed most all of the bloatware system apps such as Twitter, Facebook, and Gmail. I had to use a proprietary application to do this, but I figure it's okay to use proprietary software to get rid of proprietary software.

The downside? Since I had to get rid of the Play Store app and for some reason downloading apps through the online play store no longer works, I can't install any applications unless I have the .apk on the phone. But that's the price of freedom, I guess.

Now I'm interested to hear: what else is wrong with Android? What other proprietary stuff have I missed?
