Some have suggested PPAs but be careful. I'm not sure if, as the users of the  
distro, the general response to people should be "go use third party  
repositories." Third-party repositories are not necessarily committed to only  
including free software. Even if they only have free software today, that may  
not be true tomorrow. It could be setting up people for failure to  
unknowingly taint their system with proprietary software.
