[Trisquel-users] Does Trisquel only take away non-free code, or also add?

Hi,
I have a very simple question: is Trisquel essentially Ubuntu stripped of its  
non-free code, or do the Trisquel developers also write special applications  
for Trisquel (like, say, Linux Mint which is also based on Ubuntu, but which  
also creates original applications)?
