I think you're missing the point.Hosting proprietary software or asking whether user want to use it or not is not the same as recommending it. Anyway, the differences between the goals of the fsf and debian are so extremly tiny compared to their similarities that it's almost a crime that they don't work together. It's like Gondor and Rohan fighting against each other because of some minor issue. This way, mordor will win.
