To be fair, Flash was adopted because there wasn't a better (in terms of
practicality) alternative for streaming video at all, not because of the
digital restriction feature. Videos that aren't from big producers probably
won't be affected by EME, and I'm sure video sharing sites like YouTube will
at worst simply have an option to enable digital restrictions that not
everyone will use. But regardless, it's true that this will cause problems
that could even be catastrophic.
