LibreJS is a non-starter. Tagging JS and linking to licenses is just never going to take off in a big way. And anyway, I agree with onpon4 that even if it did take off, it wouldn't solve the problem. IMHO LibreJS is seriously hindering adoption of IceCat at the moment, which is a crying shame because everything else about that browser is just awesome.
The only way we're gonna get rid of javascript is to come up with something
better. I don't mean better from a freedom standpoint - I mean functionally
better. It needs to offer something compelling even to people who don't care
about freedom. From our point of view, we need to make sure that it is also
free. Most people will adopt it for the features, and we'll be happy because
it's free.
