Yes, proprietary code is terrible. I should have mentioned that it is for
windows users mostly. They don't reccomend proprietary software - one of the
first statements is that the guide is for windblowz (being that most people
use that shitty os); but they say several times that you should switch to
FOSS applications and if possible to gnu/linux. Too bad they give ubuntu as
alternative to windblowz. But then again it was meant for the average dude,
not for an enlightened trisquelian like yourself.
That being said, they use a simple language and examples and guides that can
be easily understood by a newb - especially chapter 7 and 8 are very good
info for a beginner.
And if you ignore the proprietary shajt their website is a good source of
info that can be applied no matter what os you use.
