https://wiki.debian.org/Debootstrap (It's really less complex than described in it, though. The idea is that it ceates a tiny, kernel-less installation of Debian (and Ubuntu, Trisquel, gNewSense, etc) in a directory (if I want to install to a new partition, I just have to mount that partition to a driectory and debottstrap to that directory).

The great thing about this is that I can do my installation while doing other things with the computer I'm on (i.e. browse the WWW, play music, use LibreOffice, etc), while still getting a customisable installation package-wise.
