You can more easily choose another theme in "GNOME Tweak Tool" (in the "System settings"). There are many themes available on the Web. See http://gnome-look.org for instance. And you can create your own theme if you wish. quidam (Trisquel's leader) would probably be interested in an original work.
The order of the buttons can be changed from 'dconf-editor'. It is
"button-layout" in org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences. I believe the colors
depend on the "theme" in the same schema. You may want to touch entries in
org.gnome.desktop.interface too.
