My X60 has a brand new battery--I think it's 8 cell but I should double check  
if you're going to quote me; it was the cheapest one on NewEgg and it cost  
more than the computer but less than $30.

It lasts about 3 1/2 hours for word processing, watching videos on VLC,  
editing photos, etc. It's always on full brightness.

I'm using JWM and don't have a browser on it right now because I don't want  
one.
