There is a fix but reinstalling the OS would be better, because it would take  
you more time and effort. Why do I want you to go for the long and difficult  
road of spending a couple of hours to backup, install and customize you OS?  
Becuase that way, I guess, there is a higher chance that you will NOT add  
non-free stuff to your computer in the future..
