Just trying to run indicator-applet in a terminal (with and without sudo)  
only produced: "bash: indicator-applet: command not found". I did manage to  
track down the service in /usr/lib/x86_64 linux-gnu/ and start it from there  
and confirmed it was running in the system monitor, but nothing shows up in  
the Cinnamon panel. Same thing if I try to run indicator-messages.
