Thank you very much for the information, however, I have uninstalled Rythmbox
and installed another player as you suggested. To beat everything, I seem to
also have the troube of lingering programs that remain in my systems tray
even if the program has been uninstalled. I just cant seem to get my head
around this issue of GNU/Linux systems trying to "hold on" to everything even
if you close or uninstall it. Either way, this deals a death blow to the myth
that Linux systems never have to be restarted or rebooted, because you have
to at least log off, if not restart, before deactivated or uninstalled
programs actually go away. Is this normal, or have I fouled something up?
