Unless someone figures out a way to break through the gpu issues, you may be  
better off going debian with the dreaded proprietary software... if you don't  
want it to overheat...

But in the future I hope you will look for free software laptops so you can  
completely escape such problems.

Thinkpenguin is a good one if you want to be able to use any linux distro  
free software friendly or not,

but for real security, go libreboot. that is all i can say. ;) laptop wise  
anyways...
