I have a few thoughts for government intelligent agencies and people here too...

IF you have to spy at all there should be some requirements:

1: You cannot spy on your own citizens without jumping through many hoops meaning if they are criminals or history of wrongdoing.

2: You cannot make software companies intentionally weaken security, you should increase your brain trust if you are that desperate so that everyone and their grandma cannot do the same.

3: No petty profiling or discrimination/prejudice as reasons for spying.

4: Do not try to restrict or change licenses on software that is free or even open source by using government power.

5: You Must make sure this information cannot be sold to other countries or corporations and you cannot enlist the help of corporations to do so because that lets them sell information.

So to conclude this, I doubt anyone with any power will concede to these thoughts for a long time and I mean a very long time...

but really any government that doesn't follow these guidelines might as well be called corrupt and arrogant.
