I know Jitsi from the time when I was still at Ubuntu. After reading this
thread, I decided to try it againt, so I went to Add/Remove Applications menu
from Trisquel 7, found Jitsi, and installed it right away... version 2.4.4997
from year 2013.
The network list is: AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ, ippi, iptel.org, MSN,
SIPP, XMPP, Yahoo! Obviously there are some obsolete things here... since
the year 2013 MSN and Facebook have closed their XMPP service and Yahoo! and
Google have underwent changes (alas the times when I could access all my
accounts at Facebook, Google, MSN, Skype and Yahoo! through Pidgin are
gone).. The results:
-Facebook: "invalid password" error even though it is right.
-Google Talk account A: Shows status "Available" but no contacts.
-Google Talk account B: "invalid password" error even though it is right.
-MSN: Shows status "Offline" and there's no way to get it Online.
-SIPP: Apparently, it works... the account is accepted and shown with online
status, but cannot test it because I have no correspondants with SIP.
-XMPP@facebook: Connection error
-XMPP@google account A: Long wait, then nothing.
-XMPP@google account B: "invalid password" error even though it is right.
[email protected]: "invalid password" error even though it is right.
-Yahoo! : Long wait, then nothing.
