It seems to avoid the problem that Mozilla created with the non-commercial
licensing.
On the other hand it still uses the addons.mozilla.org website which
intermixes free and proprietary addons. It would not be suitable for
inclusion in Trisquel, or indeed any FSF-endorsed distro, until this were
changed.
https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-system-distribution-guidelines.html
"A free system distribution must not steer users towards obtaining any
nonfree information for practical use, or encourage them to do so."
But ideally a conversation could happen with the Waterfox developers to
coordinate the development of an addon repository that only contains free
software. Trisquel maintains a list https://trisquel.info/en/browser/addons
and so does the FSF on their Free Software Directory at
https://directory.fsf.org. This seems a waste of effort and ideally efforts
can be consolidated and used by all.
