It is free software. You could have implemented the proposals by yourself. Or pay somebody to do it. But you prefer to bitch about ThinkPenguin, which actually put money into developing solutions.
LibreCMC developer working for ThinkPenguin was refusing proposals from the
community (on the now defunct mailing list librecmc-dev) to include targets
that were compatible with fully free systems and fully free boot firmware,
choosing instead to focus only on the routers ThinkPenguin had commercial
interest in. Since then we have decided to work with a different fully free
system for our routers.
