The main reason I went to parabola was a comment that said something like
I've found that "stable" or "LTS" versions are usually more buggy and less stable than newer releases. Newer releases tend to fix lots of bugs and don't add that many new features and, in the case something breaks is usually fixed within a day or two
That opened my eyes. And I change to Parabola. I've been using Parabola since February ani it's been the most stable and less buggy experience I'd had with a GNU/Linux distro.
There are not many real reasons to stay with old releases aside of having hardware that is not well supported by the newer kernel or a need for a special software that is not able to run on newer libraries.
But for the entire year, I've not had a single program broken by an update, not libreoffice, GIMP, blender, inkscape, etcetera.
Sometimes people say "yeah but new features means new bugs", and although the statement is correct it is not a good argument because new features are one or two usually, on the contrast bug fixes are a lot.
So yes, you might find a new bug (I've yet to find one in over 6 months) but you will win a lot of bug fixes and a lot of more stability.
And almost always new bugs are fixed pretty quick. This also means better security and protection.
I guess some might like the feeling of having a system that " will work for long time" but Parabola gives me the feeling of "will work better each day".
