I half agree with this.
I agree it's a bad idea to bring up Purism's activities.
However, if it's already been brought up, especially on a forum or other
channel about libre software, and it is not challenged directly, that gives
the impression of tacit acceptance. And frankly, you can't control what
everyone posts.
What prompted me to post about my disagreement is that people have posted on
/r/freesoftware about the Librem 5 twice, once to link to the campaign on the
same day it launched and once to bring up some sort of ringtone competition
they decided to run. These were two different people, of course. I responded
to the first one, and I think responding to the second one would be
appropriate as well (but preferably not by me this time).
