I'm afraid I won't be of any help here, given all the competent people who are already supporting you. Trisquel did boot from the live USB, did install straight on my laptop and now always boots like a charm using only a 350-380 Mio of RAM in user session. Only a few resistant minor tweaks remain, which have more to do with personal taste on details.

However, I had already been using some Debian derivatives for years so I might have made some changes in the BIOS which may also have helped Trisquel install and boot without any extra tweak. I mostly remember that I changed the UEFI mode back and forth, but I am sure you have already received much more precise advice.
