IF you want light, there are two options, XFCE or LXQT
LXDE will be used less and less in the future or I would have mentioned that.Mate isn't bad though. But XFCE is my favorite, then LXQT takes a hard second with one exception, LXQT is extremely ugly compared to LXDE.
