I do encourage using Tor, even at times you don't need it, because more people using Tor improves the anonymity of the Tor network. However, watching videos or downloading large files slows down the network for others, so I don't encourage using Tor for these activities except unless you really do need it. In situations where anonymity is not vital, I recommend using a VPN for streaming videos and downloading large files, and reserving Tor for low-bandwidth tasks.
